YIELD: one 16-oz drink
1 packet Golden Aojiru young barley grass powder
1/2 cup cold water
2 tbsp granulated sugar
3 tbsp hot water
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
1 cup ice
In a small bowl or beaker, mix Golden Aojiru with cold water. Set aside.
In a 16-oz glass, mix granulated sugar with hot water until sugar is dissolved.
To the sugar water, add lemon juice, ice, and lemon slices.
Stir the Golden Aojiru mixture, then pour over the ice.
Garnish with additional lemon slice, serve with a straw, then enjoy!
Granulated sugar may be substituted with honey, vegan sweeteners such as maple syrup, or other sweetener of choice. Make sure to mix with hot water to dissolve, and adjust to taste.
Larger batches can be made ahead of time. Keep the Golden Aojiru mixture in one container, and then mix the sugar water with lemon juice in another container. Don't add ice or lemon slices yet. Refrigerate until ready to use.
